As "The Violet Fountain" opened the door to the estate, Ambrosia "Gawky" Winkle ran face-to-face with the guard. Thinking quickly, he produced his new novelette and wowed the less than intelligent keeper of the door with his latest scheme. Meanwhile, Winnifred threw her grappling hook up to a window and skulked inside the spiral staircase. Before she knew it, she was pointing her flintlock at the lord of the estate, making an analogy between his face and a wet trout.

The Game

Smirk Borg is a rules-lite tabletop rpg inspired by The Princess Bride, Cyrano de Bergerac, and other picaresque fiction. You play as scoundrels, fops, vagabonds, rakes, and anyone else looking to cause trouble (and make a bit of coin too!)

Combat

Unlike your standard borg fare, Smirk Borg emphasizes the idea that combat is more about the trading of words. Wear down your opponent's Hubris Points by insulting their mother, and deflect their response about how large your elbows are! Encounters are cinematic, and anything goes; once someone wears you down, however, you best hope they show you mercy.

Each doc is designed to be printed booklet style on letter paper (from the pages version), and can be done on 67lb cardstock with a standard stapler. The spreads are also included for digital viewing.
